Good to hear you're making progress.

I've added 'The offer is now CLOSED' in red text to the top of your first post so members know your have the volunteers.

I knew the volunteer list is closed, but I'm anxious to hear how this is working out. Great to see someone with the skill set working on a glaring issue of our beloved x350s!

The two brave souls can speak better for the experience first hand.

So far two minor issues:
- pairing the phone with the device is sometime a trying experience. While that is true for every other car (looking at you Ford Sync), it's no excuse and I'll try and fix it.
- when the audio source is switched via the steering wheel controls sometimes the radio gets confused and refuses to change the station. I'm waiting for a set of buttons from eBay to see if I can reproduce it on my test rig.

I definitely want to keep my eye on this. I have a BT FM modulator, but the sound of course is not the greatest @times. So this would/will be great!

My contraption is using the D2B system.

As far as I know all x-type cars use D2B.

XJ switched to D2B in 2003 UK and 2004 US, until the 2008 (the X350, X356 and X358 models). The new XJ (X351) uses MOST.

S-Type switched to D2B around 2003 and used that until it was discontinued.

F-Type uses MOST. I would guess the XE would use MOST as well.

XK switched to MOST around 2005-6-7, they never used D2B.

Working on improved hardware incorporating feedback from the testers. Also testers uncovered some issues, which I'm investigating.

Gotcha'. Good stuff!!! It's GREAT seeing you care about the performance vs just getting $ for it & having ppl left sorta on their own...

I am also pleased to hear progress is being made. I am hoping you have a built in market through places like Jaguar Forums, where enthusiasts can step up the available infotainment options for the X350. The DB2 implementation itself was not a bad idea, but the lack of expandability and interoperability was nothing short of horrible - short of full-on custom sound systems at high $$$, we have very few options available to us. Worse - the options that we DID have such as ACM have pretty much disappeared due to the small market for them I imagine. In any event there are few to be found and always for stoopid money!

Another winner is the Bluetooth call implementation. That I need to spend $400-500 for the BTUM antenna (mine appears to be dead) in the console is annoying to put it mildly. Anyone know of an alternative solution that keeps the phone part of the in-car system? I am not interested in an add on thing like Parrot. I suppose if I wait for the product under development here, I can have it all. Bluetooth calling an A2DP.

Bring it on!!!

@John,

Joust to spare you the disappointment later, this device does not make or take phone calls. It does stream music from your phone, but to make phone calls it has to support a whole bunch of different protocols, which is quite an undertaking.

The new PSE with bluetooth can be had for less than $100 from some UK eBay sellers just search for "Jaguar and 10D893", you will need an antenna which is another $25 or so.

Default D2b cable

As I was installing my Video interface over the weekend, I of course got to finally take a look @what's going on in the back, & unfortunately, I don't even have an extra cable just lurking in wait for your box when it does become readily available. Only the phone module & NAV of course, & that's it...

Update: the beta test did reveal a flaw in the software, which is now fixed. In the mean time the new hardware revision is taking shape. Here are a few pictures:

Wow! That looks so good that I almost wouldn't want to hide it in the trunk! I don't have the extra D2B loom for it, but this is a MUST have for me, so I have to figure something out!..

This is how you can splice an extra connector to your existing D2B ring.

You can find some D2B cables on eBay, usually in the $30-$50 range.
