Reviews of Parrot bluetooth kits? Other BT advice?
Hello all - long time lurker, just started posting.
I've decided to finally add bluetooth to my 03 S-Type 4.2 and *think* I know what I need to do.
Questions -
1. I see a lot of questions about how to best install parrot kits -- can anyone speak to audio quality of them installed? I'd hate to crack the car open and then be unhappy with it installed.
2. Based on other threads, I'm assuming I have the "premium, amplified" stereo... Why don't I just go check the part numbers you ask? Because it's in the shop right now unfortunately....
The current set up (all direct from factory)
a. Nav (old a$$ DVD - about to upgrade) - includes touchscreen with climate & audio controls
b. radio / cd / cd changer in trunk
3. future state - would *LOVE* to be able to use the existing voice command / buttons on steering wheel. I know they were intended for the original moto adapter kit phones, but I can dream -- at very least use the built-in mic... I've seen people ask about whether or not these buttons work, but never seen a response.
Thanks in advance for any and all advice!!!!

honestly, the parrot is no better quality than the alpine unit im using. HOWEVER, if you look around on here, the ex-10 unit does do ipod also. I am using it wireless at this time, and it is OK at best. BT seems to work better than the ipod sounds, PLUS i can stream my PANDORA app from my blackberry into the Alpine piece and that is just too awesome. For 50.00 it sure does give me alot of options. My next thing is to do the antenna upgrade into the factory radio, but im on the fence right now of ripping it all out and starting over with my own stuff. You on the other hand have factory nav, i do not.

Wait... The alpine will let you stream pandora? What about mp3's on the actual blackberry itself?
I think you just got me off the fence about the pioneer v/s alpine BT. And I already own the alpine setup. I'm going to hardwire it into the av2 input of my D3. So sound quality should be a non-issue. Now Just where to mount the screen lol...

I had World of Sound in Palm Beach Gardens install a Parrot in my 2000 XJ8 and it works great. They also were able to add and iphone connection by tapping into the CD input. I lost my CD changer but now have my 3g iphone. They used RCA jacks where the wire was spliced and it can be easily reconnected if you want to restore the CD Changer. The parrot sound quality is excellent and works as well as any other Bluetooth device I have seen. When the phone rings the word phone shows up in the Jag radio display.

I work at a sign shop that does cell phone booster installs and bluetooth kits, we kinda got pulled in because of the nature of the work being that people with businesses need signs and we used to do stereo work anyways and the fact cell service sucks around here. Personally i use a booster in my car Wilson makes the best kits hands down 20-50 miles past the point you lose the service and as for bluetooth hookups u used to use motorola HF1000's which worked well for just connecting the phone but we slowly moved to parrot kits for ease of install most of the time it was just plug and play hide the wires done, but our supplier couldnt help me out with that harness for my x-type so i havent installed one yet but ive done tons of these installs and personally i would say a parrot kit is where its at clear clean voice over the speakers and it doesnt sound like your in a tunnel to the other person. after every install i call my boss in the other room to verify everything is working good and the first parrot kit we did he asked why i called him from the other room on my cell he had no idea it was over the bluetooth connection he said it was as clear as holding the handset
