Speaker Set up for a NOOOB
Well i am really interested in adding a Sub and an Amp to my 2003 X-type. I have never messed with car speakers before, and i want to make this a great experience. It is either I do it myself, or do not do it at all. But i have some idea of how I am going to do this.
I will need to buy and Amp and a Sub from best buy or wherever. Run a power cable to the battery from the trunk, how exactly will I go about this? And run a speaker cable from the sub or amp to the jaguar head unit? Do i need any adapters? I also read somewhere that I could combine the wires with the wires from the read speakers and use them for the audio signal. I need some infromation on this topic guys. Also lets just say, I am trying to do this in the least amount of money possible[:-] Will i need to buy any adapters from the internet? Does anyone have a tutorial i can follow?
Thanks!

I just wrote up an awesome post but the sever said I was forbidden to post - I will try to type it up again but either way I am hear to help too! I just did this but with 2 amps, 4 speakers and a sub...
OK that worked I will try again...
ZThe battery wire IMO is the hardest part. Getting thru the firewall there was a plundger that you can pop off from inside the car, make a hole in it to fit the wire and then fasten the plundger back onto the firewall. This car is awesome as it has 2 runs or channels for wiring so it keeps everything nice and neat. The adapter and wiring kit I purchased from BestBuy and they even gave me the wire colors too... Just go into the install bay and ask for them. I placed my adapter behind the radio. The radio practically falls out of the car and it is easy to run the rca's and speaker wire down the passenger side of the car. Keep the power and remote far from the speaker and rcas or you will hear that alternator noise.
