Sub and Amp in XJ8 06
Hi
I have the standard system in my XJ8 06 and I would like to upgrade and drive the 8 standard speakers by a separate amplifier together with a aftermarked sub. Has anyone tried this? Which subs and amplifiers can be recommended? How many channels is best to have on the amp? and how should I wire it? Are the front standard speakers (dash+tweeter/base in door) driven like one unit? Does anyone know the impedance of the standard speakers? I would like to install the sub/subs as in the alpine system, 6.5" on the rear deck - which sub unit can be recommended for such installation(w/out enclosure). I am after a system that plays balanced and loud is not a requirement.
Thanks in advance
MTW

there's a thread in the XJ section, i've seen it, where they OP did a swap of the old Alpine 6.5s with Elemental design's free-airs. do a quick search for elemental, and you should find it.
Lots of questions in one thread...many may not choose to answer with so many in one thread, or it will take awhile. Best approach, on or two questions in any given thread works best from my experience.
