Roll Call of all member contributors in NSW&ACT
Hi Phil ... and thanks Clarke,
Yes, again absent a few days, but I had caught up to say welcome after Phil posted in the New Members section. Glad to have you join us Phil, and as noted earlier, you will find your name entered as NSW&ACT member #70 in the listing in post #4, here in this "roll call" thread.
Love that Winter Sun colour ... I gather it is not the Champagne sometimes referred to, but a more silvery iridescent shade. Correct? What's the chance of unleashing its homicidal presence up into the Winter Sun(shine) of the North Parramatta end of Pennant Hills Rd on August 24? We would all love to see you and your XJ.
Welcome again Phil, and best wishes,
Ken

Thanks Ken
would love to but on 24th August I'll be in the south of France.
Also, it's still sleeping over at the mechanics. He rings every so often with an update. The latest is that the problem appears to be on the inlet side not the exhaust side in spite of readings to the contrary. Something called air mass meters (?) whatever they are.
Seems that the engine management system is almost identical to the same year Range Rover diesel even though they're 3 litres.
Fingers crossed.

Sorry Phil,
You had already mentioned your trip to "la belle France" ... Thanks for reminding me and you have a safe, happy trip. I hope to meet up at a later date, but feel free to post some pics when you return to remind us of the wonders of a European summer.
Cheers,
Ken

Hi All,
Firstly let me introduce myself. I'm Richard from Sydney and a happy owner of a 2003 XKR Convertible. I have been a Jaguar owner for many years and not regretted one moment.
Anyway, enough of the background, as this is really to let you know that the postponed All British Day has been re-scheduled for Sunday 14th September.
The JDCA members will be out in force, and the Concours Event will be part of the activities.so I hope to meet as many forum members as possible then.
Cheers

"Hi everyone.
My name is Phil and live in the Hunter Valley in the Maitland area (Ashtonfield).
I have owned my S1 XJ6 for the last 10 years, firstly up in Brisbane where it was my daily commuter between Manly and Milton. On moving back to NSW in Dec 2007 the car took a back seat and was relegated to the occasional driver as a few issues developed.
I am now full steam ahead on getting it back to be able to run reliably every weekend as my wife would like to do a bit more "Us Time" and do some real touring in what she calls the "oil beast".

Hi, Ken from Lower mountains, west of Sydney. We have a much loved 1991 pre update XJS convertible which we restored from an engine fire wreck. we try to get out as often as possible and would be happy to meet up for a drive
Hi.
Ben from Byron Bay area. First time Jag owner, about 3.5 years into the experience.
'94 XJ40, Aubergine. 3.2 litre. Previous owner has swapped a bunch of interior panels for older, plusher variants...
Love the car, they definitely grow on you. We're currently in the middle of a "bonding" period where we cement the love affair with blood, sweat, tears and a pile of money.
Good to see a nice healthy friendly active Aussie community for these cars. It can be pretty lonely when you call a parts shop looking for bits..
Cheers,
br.

Hi Ben,
Byron Bay Huh!
Will we be seeing you in Ballina then on Sunday? We have about 6 members meeting up for the first time. Would be really good to add another Jag to the fleet.

Hi All
New forum member, I live in the New England area in NSW.
I own an x300 XJR which I acquired in August after many years of wanting one...probably since I was 15.
I have 4 uncles who have always owned Jags, 3 of them are mechanics, so I guess I was influenced by them.
Look forward to learning a lot here.

For those interested in diesels have a look at recent posts in thread on DPFs regens etc.
I've gone overnight from being a grouch to a very happy camper.
Also, I trust the meet in August went well. At the time I was driving a Citroen DS4 around France (horrible automatic but not bad once I stuck to using the paddle shifts).
So glad to be back in a (working) XJ. Phil

Hi,
Phil here from the Hills District, Sydney. I've owned a 1976 V12 XJC since 1992 and in June this year acquired a really nice 2000 XK8 - a beautiful car to drive and look at!
Cheers

Hi
I have recently joined the forum, but have been a Jag (& Bentley) owner for 27 years. At one stage I had a 1950 Mk5 (I restored it - well as a labourer to an expert), 1964 Mk II (basket case), 1980 SIII XJ6, 1983 SIII XJ6 (still own, but it's in long term storage in W'Gong with the head in the boot). And I had a 1956 S1 Bentley. To afford them all we ran a wedding car company. Then I shut that down in 2004 and bought a Transport Company - bad decision. To keep it (the business) running almost all the cars went except for my baby 83 XJ6 (I'm it's 2nd owner, and the first was one of Australia's top 200 Millionaires). I sold the business early last year to go into battle against Cancer, which is a battle I won, but at huge physical cost (Ive lost 32 kgs since the op).
This year, now that I'm on the way to being better, is to get a V8 XJR - expected to happen before the end of this month, and to get the 83 back on the road.
I'm open to get togethers if they are arranged, as I have heaps more time on my hands now.
Regards
Lyndon
