Ha ha true Doug.

Well ABD is on the Sunday 17th. So I am guessing a dinner or BBQ the night before somewhere approximate to where you guys are staying?

And what about after ABD? Thoughts?

This is getting good

Here's a couple suggestions in or around the city for Saturday night to show off our City.
Mount Cootha Lookout: https://www.brisbanelookout.com/summit-menu
Southbank: Southbank Beer Garden Home South Bank - Southbank Beer Garden
Hamilton Steakhouse: https://www.hamiltonhotel.com.au/dining
Any other ideas?

Some further thoughts... We could meet up at the Hamilton Hotel for a few drinks mid afternoon. Plenty of spacious parking available there. Then walk across the road to catch a return trip up the river on the City Cat https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/traf...ferry-services to Southbank in the City - about an hour each way. After a leisurely stroll around Southbank, returning to Hamilton Steakhouse (Clarke could meet us back there) for one of the best steaks in Brisbane and finish off the evening with a drive up to Mount Cootha to take in the City views by night before departing our separate ways for home to get ready for ABD on Sunday.
Perhaps a beachside BBQ/Fish and Chips at Victoria Point lighthouse: https://www.redland.qld.gov.au/info/...int_lighthouse on Sunday afternoon/evening to farewell our southern guests.

Works for me, I work about 3 minutes from the Hamilton hotel and Mt Coot-Tha is on my way home.

Should work out well for you Clarke. It might seem a bit busy but should be some good sightseeing opportunities relaxing on the City Cat, a good dinner and finishing with a good drive up Mount Cootha. Plenty time for a chat and a few drinks. Still open to other suggestions though.

Doug that sounds real good mate. Hamilton hotel is a good venue also as it is very close to the Gateway for those that just want to meet/depart from there. I like it.

Mt Cootha for views sounds swell as well. I might have to conn the Mrs into coming for this now.

Whats a good time for everybody to meet at the Hamilton?

p.s My mission this week is to try and get in contact with the ABD people as it has still been quiet on that front....

I certainly hope the ABD is still on track. I guess they are all super organized and no further announcements needed. :-)
Seems as though this Saturday night plan is agreeable to most. The more I think about it the keener I am to see everyone again. Clarke finishes work around 6pm so it would be ideal to be back at the Hamilton for dinner by 6 - 6:30pm. If the ferry ride takes an hour each way, allowing an hour at Southbank, we should be on the ferry by around 3pm - they depart every 15mins. How about we meet at one of the Hamilton Hotel bars for welcome drinks and a quick chat about 1:30 - 2pm? Some might even like to have lunch there beforehand. Please feel free to chip in any other suggestions. I didn't mean to take this over - was just offering some ideas. :-)

Mount Cootha used to be a real lovers lane of a Saturday night Paul. Are you planning some parking in the 'Blue Goose' on the way home?
