Believe it or not I have left room to make it bigger!!!
I may add another 6m*36m awning on the last side
Starting the driveway and trenching today
Gotta get the down pipes connected before we get any big rains!!!
After that I start on the electricals, plumbing and air lines
I can then look at the pallet and steel racking and start to build a mezzanine
Cheers

Very Nice Sir;
Several years ago (2007) My Sons and I built our "Shop" as we call them in the good ole USA. I started with 24' deep by 32' wide, with a 18' wide roll up door. We did the concrete ourselves and built it as a pole barn. It has been great, so about 2014 I decide to extend it 24'x24' which brings us to 24' deep by 56' wide, as I want to add a spray booth at one end. I had the second slab poured and worked by a local contractor, wish I'd done that on the first side. I have installed a 2 post lift as I'm to old for that laying on my back crap. The first side is completely wired and functional. the second side has temporary wiring in place. and we started putting insulation in it and have a ways to go. So all together with the concrete and everything I have about 10 to 11 thousand in the whole thing. I had a couple estimates for just a building 24x36 at 20,000.00 without concrete. It was the biggest project I'd ever done and I scrimped and searched every bargain/salvage place I could find and it paid off it isn't the most beautiful. but it's functional keeps the rain off my head and it's paid for. Thank You God. as I can't tell you the number of days i laid out in the rain or so hot you could fry an egg on the hood, now I can at least get in out of the rain, or sun which ever occurs first. here's some pics
Yeah, Snow is not usually a big deal in Arkansas, which is pretty close to center of the USA, but we still get some. Usually a couple inches, 2 or 3 times a year. There are a lot of times we'll get freezing rain and sleet, instead of the snow which sucks. I'd much rather drive on snow instead of ice.
I wish I had all the money in the world to finish it out with all the latest and greatest tools, and equipment. But it's great as is. Thanks for the compliment I guess once we get the insulation done I'll try to get it painted one color.
Hey James, Jack . . . and everyone else who has trod this path . . .
Congrats on some brilliant work. I reckon great sheds have to be functional but looks are a bonus. You fellas have certainly invested in impressive facilities, but even for those competing for tool & work space with lawn mowers and kid's bikes, the message seems to be . . . get organized.
Chap here on big broad acres runs a national tractor parts business (dismantling, refurbs, you name it) who is also a collector. Each brand of tractor being dismantled is assigned to its own 5 to 20 acre paddock, very few under cover, so a map is handy to avoid getting lost.
But, he does have sheds . . . just that most of his big sheds are committed to housing members of his museum collection of 660 complete tractors. For his latest shed, he and his staff designed each bay/module on an aircraft hanger - then built all the modules onsite. Enormous! His only regret? Not big enough . . . planning to double it by next year!
Now, if I could only find that compression tester . . .
I know it's in the shed here, somewhere . . .
Finished off the lights today with the help of Paul
Big thanks there
Power points are almost done. You can see a few in the pic!!!
Just need to run the outdoor outlets and 3 phase outlets
Finally cut a bunch of fascia panels from .5mm steel to complete the power ducting.
Then its onto running the air lines, solar and battery setup
BTW Phill/Clark working bee on the XJS wont be till next month but would not mind some help setting up the hoists in a few weeks
Cheers

Hi James, had a chat to Dr Phill after our phone call today. We will be catching up Wednesday for a beer and will give you a call to work out a date that suits us all. We'll call you then and make a plan. Three guys, two hoists to install in a big shed! Sounds like a good day out to me.
I survive on shed envy, I'm just waiting until we can move to the Sunshine Coast and have a double garage and a shed out the back big enough for a printing machine and a hoist.
The Idea is to test a the positioning with a few cars just to make sure they are in the right spot
The xjs would be a perfect check as im sure yours wont be the only one to goon the hoist

I have a two poster myself and have used it to good effect on many occasions. I'm too old to be crawling around under cars now - especially the XJS. :-)
Please count me in when you need a hand. If I'm available I'm happy to help out.
Cheers, Doug.
Man that looks a whole lot like the one I got. Don't worry as it goes up very easily. I retorque my concrete anchors, once a year, and simply mark it on the post itself, next to the hydraulic unit. That way I never forget. Cool Deal. To bad your the other side of the Pond as I'd also lend a hand, just don't think I can swim that far.
