Gave the Jag a wash this afternoon and then went for a quick run round the block to shake the water off.
On the way she has thrown a "Gearbox Fault" message and is now clunking heavily when shifting into drive. Bit disappointing. I am off to find out what a P0701.
So I may not be a starter tomorrow after all.

Bummer Rob. Sorry to hear that mate!
Well, I got very lucky these last 24 hours. As with Champir I gave mine a wash to get her ready and took her for a spin around the block, only to have brake issues! It was looking gloomy for all Euro day and I was spewin.
Now its all sorted and I'm a starter for tomorrow.
I would like to send a very big thanks to the Wizard of Oz Grant Francis for his tech support and the super generous James (34by151) for bleeding and flushing my brakes this arvo. James it was great to meet you in person finally and thanks for taking the time to teach me the fundamentals on the brake system.
Without a doubt you guys are truly awesome.
Thank you so much.
Now its on to all Euro day!

Thanks for the kind words it was my pleasure to help out.
As they say what goes around comes around. I hope working on the brakes is not so scary for you now you know how they work.
A rolls may fail to proceed but no jags get left behind!!!
Cheers

Wow!
What an awesome day with a top bunch of blokes. Thanks for a good one.
I even got the Blue Goose a race around the track! (even though they say I drive like a grandpa!)
I'll wait for Clarke to post the pics as he takes beautiful shots with that SLR but just as a teaser enjoy the one below.
Big thanks to Clarke for making it happen. Mate you had a good excuse not to come and you still made it. Hope all is well back home mate. Your a champ.
Thanks to all the chaps that turned up, even Rob without his Jag! I enjoyed meeting you all
Here's to the next Jag meet!
Clarke I can't wait for the pics mate!

you drive like my Grandma
But in your defence you did have your young boys in the car.
Pics coming soon
Thanks for the great turn out and good company for the day.
Isaiah & Jonah Ling, thanks for being so patient with all us old car guys. A couple of well behaved boys.
The track cruises turned out be unlimited speeds with all sorts of exotics swamping us on the track, I for one don't think my XJ6 would have gone any faster the track unless I had wider and better tyres for the corners and about another km of straight line for top speed. I did get to nudge 90 mp/h about 7-800 meters down the straight before standing on the brake pedal for the carosel(turn 1). The two XJR's were a treat to share the track with too.

Ok. Sunday was with out a doubt awesome. I'm keen for the next one!
I get back from sea
22nd of May and should be ready to play for the proceeding 4 weeks.
Talking with the fellas on Sunday we threw around a few ideas and I have a few myself, so, I thought I might just compile them here and get the ball rolling:
Caboolture Air Show Open day meet/show n shine - Peter, you might be able to get us some more info on that one but sounds great. I know a few of the guys are right into Aero's.
BBQ and scenic cruise up to Peachester - (James)
Cruise up to the Big Kart Track (Big Kart Track ) go for spin (they go up to about 70km/hr on a pretty big track) cruise nearby (Maybe one of the local pubs eg. Beerwah) for lunch.
Meet at the Petrie Historical village, cruise to Dayboro or somewhere up that way for lunch
Fort Lytton (Fort Lytton National Park (Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing)) - Not sure who has been there but a really old military fort (interesting) and a centralish place to meet. We could meet there, check out the fort (cheap as chips to get in) go cruising out near that way near the Port of Brisbane, lots of quite roads n that, once your over that way.
Just some ideas guys, they are mostly up my way so any input from what is over on the South is fine by me.
Throw those ideas out!

Had a great day at Lakeside. Thanks to Clark for organising the get together and to everyone else for their company. Thanks also for your hospitality towards my son Pat (despite his BMW coming from the ‘dark side’).
My only regret was the need to conserve my driving enthusiasm while my XJR was pending sale (now sold and moving to Melbourne with its new owner shortly).I will miss it, but at least I had one last track fling to saviour.I will have to take my X308 Sovereign next time!
Hope to catch up with you all at our next get together.
