Default My Salsa F-Type R delivered today! My first post

I was on the hunt for a fun sports car and test drove a few that I liked. But the F-Type R really stuck on me. The sound, beauty, and power is a wonderful mix and I couldnt ignore it. Also it was one of the only 2 seaters in which I actually fit in comfortably. As my wife says I drive like a "gangster" with my seat and recline really far back. The F-Type doesnt recline but it gives me enough for comfort.

So anyway I decided on the F-Type and spotted a Salsa Red 2015 R with 800 miles on it in FL. It was CPO so warranty to 2021 or 100,000 miles and it was a very fair price. I told the dealer to powder coat the Gyrodynes black and paint the rear diffuser red and we had a deal. Done.

You guys may like these pics as I couldnt find a single F-Type with Gyrodynes powder coated black so I was taking a chance at how they'd look but I couldnt be more pleased.

The truck delivered it today and I cant stop going to the garage to stare at it. Here are some pics. I look forward to getting to know you guys

Here is the video of it being unloaded from the truck today:

Stunning - congratulations - although there is no bad color when it comes to the F-Type, in any model or configuration in not just my opinion.

Separately, and I assume the guy delivering your Jag is a professional, but that appears (and it might just be the angle of view) to be an extraordinarily tight squeeze and quarters to even get into a [your] car. How did he do it (and were you holding your breathe while he did)?

Welcome and Happy Motoring.

They had Gyrodynes in Black? I think they look awesome so surprised Jag doesnt offer this. Maybe dealers are realizing powder coating is cheap and can sell a car easier by doing it themselves.

Ha this is the first thing I thought when I saw the door open. I said "soooo how do you get in the drivers seat? And damn that is close quarters!" and he said "thats why they pay me the big bucks" LOL. He ninja'd into the car through the window. The other cars in the trailer had their windows down so he crawls in through the side. Yes I was a little worried but he told me he's had all kinds of bentley, ferrari, lambo, etc... so I felt better after that.

Beautiful....wheels look great with the red. Never get over the sound at start up be it the 6 or 8. You will enjoy it as most of us do. Mine is 5 weeks with me as I turn 700 miles on it. Welcome to the forum. You'll learn a lot from some on the more senior members.

Nice, but whats going on with your lower lip spoiler, there appears to be a bit missing in the middle!!

Hi Timbo, when the car was delivered it had a "hidden mount" license plate bracket mounted under the front bumper. So I guess its previous owner lived in a front-plate state. I removed the bracket right away and figured that they cut that middle section out to accommodate the bracket. At first I was a little weird about it but I think it looks pretty neat now like a lip spoiler.

I must say after my first weekend with this car I cant believe all the attention it gets! I took it down the beach this weekend and people were hanging out of their cars to give me thumbs up. Even on the highway cars were coming next to me giving me thumbs up. It was really a change of pace from my CLS63 which NEVER got reactions. Maybe at a gas station someone would say cool car but that was once a year. Heck as I was waiting for Chinese food tonight at the Chinese restaurant a guy was having his girlfriend take a pic of him in front of my car LOL. It really makes me feel like I'm driving a lambo or ferrari or something much much more expensive

Anyway here is pictures of that license plate mount, really great design for one of these. Its for sale if anyone wants it:

The new solution to the front plate issue is in the link below. It requires no cutting or drilling. It's fairly new, so it probably came along after the previous owner performed the surgery. It mounts lower so the grill is completely clear.

Mine are the 20" Tornados. A little different. To the untrained eye though, most people probably wouldn't notice that they're a little different. And yep, not too far away!
