What do you guys think of this unit...?
I just talked to Mike and it turns out this guy's about 15 minutes from my home, has a unit designed for the F-Type and in fact...has installed one on a white '16 Coupe at my local dealership so I'll stop by and check out the installation tomorrow morning before our Costco run.
That's by far the best one I've seen over many years!
I don't see Jaguar listed on his site, but if he just developed it that makes sense. Please take some pictures of where it mounts on the F-Type, as well as what's involved.
This is something I might actually use... (for inspection or to show that I "fixed" my "fix-it" ticket for not having it on anywhere else I drive or park...)
I just spoke to Mike (my unit's already in the mail by the way, lol!) and I asked him where it mounted...he said if you look under your car and just above the sacrificial plastic spoiler, you'll find one single screw and that's what is removed,a spacer installed and the dual-tube receiver mounts...so no,it's not the lowest point on the car from what he's telling me because if it was...it'd be useless.
He said most of the dealers front load these on their in-stock unit and the way the F-type unit evolved was because a customer of his back east bought a Hellcat and ordered one of those units and then his wife got a '15 'vert and she called asking if they made a unit for the Jaguar...he went to the local dealer here in Seaside and the GM said have at it so that's how this one got designed.
It's funny because I was Fleet Director at Cypress Coast Ford for almost 8 years and when I saw their license plate & placard on the video,I chuckled.
I was planning to just zip-tie my plate to get the ticket signed off on but I like the idea of this unit, much cleaner.
Pictures to follow tomorrow...stay tuned.

I just took a look and located that screw. That is the perfect location.

My thinking too...simple genius.
He is emailing me pictures and the installation instructions later this afternoon, will link them here when that happens...around drag racing coverage from Bristol that is,lol.
Thanks, didn't see that initially. I just ordered one.
I just ordered mine as well. Spoke with the owner, Mike, and a hell of a nice guy. The story on how these came about was interesting. To the original poster, thanks for sharing this solution, as I was driving around holding my breath when I saw a Police Officer. This solves the problem.
Sorry for those who ordered but I just spoke to Mike and his daughter will send me the pics, install instructions and a code to receive the discount...he told me he only had a run of 100 made (they are laser cut in Santa Clara) and once those are gone,he's not sure when they do another run.
He really runs this operation from his garage but says he's sold 3500 units so far this year.
for avoiding parking no front plate tickets by meter maids I'm starting to just use velcro double sided tape
obviously I wouldn't be driving around with this as it's not secure enough. And of course you risk some ******* stealing your plates since it's just velcro....
