Cheers Clarke.

Yes I am guessing at this stage we would pay admission and I think it is just customary to make a donation as a club to their museum if your able. This is what I was gauging off Peter when I spoke to him about other car clubs that have been there. I'll double check with Peter though.

Normal admission prices by the way are:

Adults $15
Concession/student $10
Children $35
Family pass $35
(2 adults and 3 kids)

Hi Doc. We still have two dates open for the day:

12th or the 19th of June

Just waiting on feedback from us guys but judging by most, both days work.

Would you have a preference?

Failing that I'll give it a bit longer then pick a definite date.

cheers

I don't understand the need for a donation. Aren't we just driving there and touring the Museum? Is the donation in lieu of an entrance fee perhaps? Happy to go with the majority.

Hi Doug. We are actually parking our cars inside the Museum compound and will be showing our cars up against the main hangar inside.

So I guess it is just a token of thanks for letting us display our cars in their grounds is all.

I wouldn't get too hung up on it though. I think they will just be happy bringing in a few extra people on a normally average Sunday for them.

When I was talking to the Club organizer he mentioned to me car clubs that display inside normally just give a donation.

I will double check with Peter (the organizer) if car clubs normally pay admission and will post back. If yes, and If they don't get much of a donation they will still get entrance fees from us so they are still winning

I don’t care about the cost as long as I can get my cars picture taken with a cool warbird any budding or pro photographers in the group please bring your photo gear

I would gather that a few others wouldn’t mind photos like that maybe a bit of questions to be ask Paul see if that's possible

Just thinking out loud

Is there anything else on on the day they have a engine run day this weekend http://qam.com.au/?page_id=4146
Just thinking out loud I understand how hard it is to organise something like this and thank Paul and Clark for putting things like this together

Yeah originally the Event Organiser Peter wanted me to come for Aero Run day but I am still at work (at sea right now) so I couldnt organise it in time. I went to the event last year and it was pretty cool actually.

Their best event through the year is their open day in July. I seem to always miss it thought the last few years due to work.

About the photos, the club doesn't mind at all. I took heaps of snaps last year near the old Aero's (see my signature pic and pics at the start of this post).

Awesome Stu. Glad you will be coming along:

1) James (34by151)
2) Clarke (o1xjr)
3) Paul (paulyling)
4) Orville (Doc) [Maybe]
5) Doug and Lois (ozxj)
6) Bruce (Henry Crun)
7) StuG (Stu)

As for the date lets make it the 19th of June. The weekend before will be my first weekend back at home after being at sea for a month so making it the 19th will give me more time to make preparations.

Lets lock her in 19th of June.

Great guys

Well I heard back from Peter in regards to admission:

Hi Paul ,
Most clubs just pat an admission fee of $10.00 per head .
However if you want to make a donation in lieu of that I am more than happy to accomadate you.

Regards

Peter Asher

"As a token of appreciation for showing our cars at the Air Museum Paul has mentioned to me it would be fitting to donate to the Museum.
Paul suggested a raffle, but I don't think we have the numbers to make a raffle sustainable, but if you have any ideas please post them. Personally I would be happy to make a cash donation on the day".

I've gone on similar runs with other car clubs and from past experience $10 per vehicle is the norm and should not break the bank. As always, this is just my opinion and your mileage may vary.

Just touched based with Peter the events organiser today:

Hi Paul,
Yes not a problem.
Will pencil you in on that date

Regards

Peter Asher
I am just going to ask him what time would be ok to rock up. Is there any preference on that for you guys?

Also are we going to do BBQ again? Seemed to work well at Euro day.

I can arrive anytime that suits the rest of you. Are we meeting at the Aerodrome or someplace nearby and then arriving in convoy?

For those living south of Caloundra, do you want to meet at the Northbound BP or Moby Vic's once we decide on the timing?

BBQ sounds good to me. What do I need to bring, ie; BYO meat, plates, utensils, beverage? I can bring along a salad to share.

Cheers,

Stu

Thanks for the reply Stu.

I will be going straight to the Aero Museum as I live only down the road.

I'll wait to hear back from Peter to check what time we can meet from. Probably around opening time I am guessing but it doesn't really matter.

I can pick up some fresh bread rolls from the bakery and the sauces again if we like.

Sounds like a plan, I'll bring a pan this time so we can cook!

Salad sounds good Stu, Paul's bringing bread and sauce. I'll grab the snags as usual and James has the BBQ. Paper plates and plastic utensils are good, we can work on that closer to the date.

Is Charlie bringing his Jag along, I had a good chat to him at Euro day. Is this his?
