first service on the XF in Brisbane or Gold Coast
who would you recommend so it does not void the warranty

I have used both and have no qualms recommending either.

Just take it to the Gold Coast dealer
They are part of the sunshine automotive group of company’s pretty big

I get my Renault van serviced by sunshine Renault very nice guys and great service so wouldn’t expect less from the Jaguar Aston side of the company

 

Sorry all but Sunshine have been forced to sell Jaguar to Bruce Lyntton Land Rover
As they ripped me off on my Discovery 3 services at $980 for a 1 hour minor service
they have said they will give it a go for $520 but they are not sure how to do it, sunshine were $350 and knew their job
i will give them 1 slim chance to redeem themselves but i am not filled with confidence.
I will update you all after the 21st if I still have a car in 1 piece

 

Soooo, where is the update? Please don't keep us in suspense.

To my surprise the nice people at Sunshine transferred my account with 3 years 100,000klm free service although the Lyntton creeps tried to tell me I needed new tyres as they only had 5mm of tread on 20" low profiles with 29,000klm on them.
So I went across the road and had coffee with the Sunshine boys who said the service was $300
By the way the sell McLaren now nice way to have coffee
As for the service it was in one piece although the fuel per KLM was showing 35 so I guess it got smoked up the street

 

Well thats a nice surprise

My mate has a BMW X5 bought it from lyntons new in 2003 its only got 27,000 k,s

I was at his place mid last year he was complaining that every time he goes to get it serviced its a grand

I laughed and said they must have watched what grand motors do thats the reason they are called grand motors (LOL) must be true

Any way the drivers side door handle stopped working his wife had to open the back door reach through and open the door each time

He decided to get a quote from them this time to see how much it would cost as he was thinking maybe its time to get a new car

I laughed at him and said I'll buy the this one if he does 27,000 k,s its not even run in yet he agreed they wanted $1600 dollars for the door handle for supply and fitting

While I was in Melbourne I had to do a drop of at Frankston so dropped into peninsula BMW they sold me a brand new door handle right colour $220 dollars said they would fit it for free if the car was there I said its in QLD okay they said and gave me a print out how to do it don’t even have to pull the door trim of 2 allen bolts behind the rubber 10 minute job

Came back to Qld dropped over to there place for a coffee said I have a present for you showed them the handle and went down stairs and replaced it for them in you guessed it 11 minutes

His wife was stunned they also had been getting tyres through them the runflats 2 sets in 27,000 k,s because they said they where worn

I said the tyres on my jaguar V8 which are super sticky 19's I get 45,000 out of them

I understand that due to age the tyres might have gone off this has happened to me a few times over the years due to not using the car enough
I then put them onto my tyre guys in Brisbane he got the same run-flats for them a grand for the 4 tyres fitted balanced and wheel aligned with free rotation and balancing for the life of the tyres and he through in wheel alignments as well when he saw how little they used the car

my mate was super impressed he drives to Brisbane to his office once a month just to keep up-to-date and feel needed (LOL) as he is retired now hence the low mileage on the car
