Can someone recommend me a very good ( not all season ) tire for the 19" XJ Base wheels that doesnt hit the wallet but is as good as the best brand names?
Looking for smooth comfort ride but good looks too.

Also, is there a certain place where to buy these from as in at a tire shop vs online store?
If only store, is it best to ship to house or to shop?

I tend to look at what the autocross guys are using in street tire classes. Generally, they're looking at best bang-for-buck grip and lifespan.

I didn't check against XJ sizes, but these are the tires recommended for the recent season's end:

BF Goodrich Rival "S"
Bridgestone RE71R
Dunlop Direzza Z2 "Star Spec"
Hankook Ventus R-S3 "Version 2"
Kumho V720

I can vouch for the Dunlops being excellent for the price point, my uncle runs them on his Ferrari.

Assuming you're in a climate that doesn't see extreme cold or snow, any of the above should provide pretty outstanding grip.
