Default Tools to loan for Aussie members...

There are a lot of specialised tools needed when working on our Jags. Most of them cost $$$. The Jaguar Club of North America have a large listing of tools that their members can borrow. Why can't we? It would be great if we can make this a "sticky" and also have it placed with the other jaguarforums.com regional forums in Australia. If you need one of the tools listed, you'll just need to PM the owner and arrange to pay return shipping. If it isn't listed, just ask.

So, I will start this out.

I have a hub puller gathering dust that I used on my MK2 rear hubs. It will probably work on several models besides the MK2.

Hi Stu, not sure if it can be placed in multiple forums. But maybe kept in the Qld Forum sticky's with a link in the sticky's of each of the Australian forums direct to this thread.
I will make some enquiries when time allows.

What a great idea Stu. I have a genuine Jaguar coil spring compressor kit, a valve spring compressor and a timing chain tensioner for the XK engines. Happy to lend out to fellow enthusiasts. Spring compressor is probably a bit heavy to post though :-). More suitable for local pickup from Morayfield north of Brisbane.

I’m not sure where you would buy one John. I made my own using a picture of the OEM one as a Guide. Cheers, Doug

John we posted in another thread. You might try SNG Barratt--just type in JD 115 or 204-111 and see if you get a hit. We recently purchased one as they are in high demand. These are factory approved tools and not reproductions. The older style tool is JD6H or 204-008 for cars that the top of the turret can be accessed. You may also try Bosch service solutions who handle all of the special tools now. Search for Jaguar special service tools and Bosch. Best of luck---why not energizing your clubs down under to start a program?

Sorryfor the confusion. My spring compressor is a genuine OEM kit. I bought it secondhand so not sure where to buy new. I thought you were referring to the valve spring compression tool. That one I made myself.

Default Jaguar v12 head removal tool

Would anyone have a v12 head removal tool available for loan, sale or hire in the Sydney region.

Would appreciate the assistance.

Thanks William

would you consider couriering the compressor kit to Melbourne if I arranged for the couriers to pick it up from your Home?

What sort of security does the loan parts scheme require?

Many Thanks

Hi wyzawazza, I haven't had to consider letting my coil spring compressor 'leave town' yet. I guess that with a substantial security deposit I would be prepared to let it go though. What do you think would be a fair thing? It is the genuine Churchill tool for Jaguar with a range of special fittings to do the job. It is packed into a solid timber box approx 80cm X 20cm x 20cm and is quite heavy. Probably around 20kg. It cost me $500 about five years ago. I don't wish to sell it.
If you still wish to borrow it I can get proper weight and measurements for you.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers, Doug.(OZXJ)

OZXJ a "substantial deposit" and a time frame is the only way it works! We ship in a regular box but well packed. The trick is to make sure the heavy tools can not move in the box. If they do they may crash out.
