I just bought another Jag xj6 this time hoping to use it while my zj12 is being built but so far I have had nothing but dramas with it. I sorted out the starter motor issue now I have a vac leek some where at the rear off the inlet manifold I checked the bolts there tight this car is on gas and idles like a cammed pig anyone have any ideas?

Hi there, and greetings from the not-so-sunny east coast. A rainy, stay inside, weekend here.

Tell us a bit about the XJ6 you are having trouble with. Why are you sure it's a vac leak near rear of inlet manifold? Can your hear it? Was it there at purchase or has it recently appeared? Any chance you snagged a vac line while "sorting out the starter"? I'm rusty on the s3 6 cylinder, and not sure of any vac lines back there - but, I don't recall any and without further details of damage etc, find it hard to believe that the inlet manifold has developed a leak at the face, spontaneously.

Some of the gurus will chime in, but perhaps you will gain better exposure for help, by posting in the XJ section of the forum with a title that points to the specific problem. Please come back and let us know how you fare. You are surrounded by some dab V12 fans here, so further details or pics on your build project will be of interest to many here.

Best wishes.
.

Sorry for the double post, but I have just connected the dots ... xj12s3 = Garth ... sorry, I didn't recognize the connection. We really are a pretty friendly bunch here, so first names (in good Aus/NZ tradition) really do help. Best wishes and keep us posted.
