When I was in the Genesis club, we started with 3 members and built it up by stoping other owners, leaving contact cards and email/PM local members from the forums.
Here's the website: Vintage Sports Car Club of Calgary. The club is pretty active with a large group of Jaguar owners and, despite it's name, many of the cars are pretty current and aren't remotely close to `vintage'.

I've used XJ Auto Service for several years and am happy with the work he does. He's done mostly routine maintenance for me. He looked after my 98 XJR from 40,000 km to 240,000 km at which time I sold it.

I've actually heard some good things about the Edmonton dealer so I'm surprised that someone would travel that distance for service.

Default In Calgary 95 XJR

Just purchased 1995 XJR still doing some reconditioning, been using as daily driver (last couple of weeks) always taking the really long way home. This forum has been helpful to anticipate some of the care and feeding of my cat...lol

I guess that either he had a bad experience with the dealer or he receives a level of service from British Auto that he feels is reason enough for him to travel the 180 miles, one way. Then again, maybe he has a girlfriend here!?!

Welcome to BBB and Bigharv! I would say to look for me on the street, but my daughter has been driving the Jag to commute to Mount Royal U. So I've been relegated to driving a 92 500SL, black over dark grey. Lots of power, but I would much rather drive my Jag. I have her drive the Jag as it is much easier to drive and more safety features than the Benz.

Back in the Jag world with an 05 XKR that I bought up from Florida. Less than 15,000 miles. Love it!
I've been recommended to go to XJ Auto for service work - does anyone have any experiences they can share?

Well, I did it.. traded off my midget for an 86 XJ- SC V12. I'm having the maintenance issues dealt with at Malcolm Mann's - Automann. He rebuilt our midget engine and did alot of repairs to the GT. I am very satisfied with their work and would recommend their services to anyone.

So far, all the maintenance has been pretty routine, distributor cap, repack bearings, replace air filters, hydraulic jacks for the "bonnet" and that's about it...

Default A Euro Car Enthusiast from Calgary

Hello,

I'm new member here, first JAG, an S-Type was my choice of ownership so I found a 2000 V6 that has been purchased and taken care of here in Calgary since 2001

My mood started to change towards Volvo and Jaguar recently as I own a Volvo XC90 for the last 3 years and I'll wait to see if I'm going to be a satisfied British car owner as I'm always is with Mercedes Benz (3 E Series for the last 20 years and a recent '06 SL500)

This is a good and informative forum and I'm looking forward to contribute

Raed

Hi, I've just joined and am in Calgary. I have a gold 2006 XJ8 and before that a 2000 S-type. Both have been excellent.
Thanks to the member (David) who recommended Sports Car Parts. I needed a new wiper blade and they promised delivery in 2 hrs. Very helpful!

Default Welcome JJinCalgary.

Welcome JJinCalgary. I am sure you will find this forum to be above and beyond your expectetions as I have. The members are very informative, helpful and entertaining. My familiarity with my cat has grown tremendously since signing on. I live on the outskirts of Calgary and as of late, my daughter has been driving my cat to commute to MRU. So I have had to take a step down and drive my toy.

Best of the Season,
thep (my initials)

Congrats on the XFR! I'm not aware of any specific Jaguar Forum events in Calgary but I'd certainly be interested in participating if there is enough interest.
