In the days of my mis-spent youth, I remember making the annual pilgrimage to the Guild Inn in Scarborough every June for the Jaguar club meet. Still have a bunch of pictures somewhere taken every year.
Sadly, that event is long since gone, so I was just wondering if anything like it still takes place in the Toronto area. Anyone remember the old Guild Inn meets?

Im down in toronto.

 

The annual Jaguar club concours is now at the science centre parking lot.
It is usually held around or on fathers day.

There are a number of "cruise nights" around Toronto and GTA.
All of which are disgracefully low on Jaguar participation.
Lets change that shall we?

We get summer cruise nights here in London, starting in july, every Thiursday night. So far I've been the only Jag to drop in. There is a big Cruise In event in early June at Steve Plunket's mansion. Maybe we can get together and have a Jag section there this year?

I am up for a Toronto meet. Any interest in a monthly meet? my car actually is not on the road at the moment but it will be soon. My idea is something like the first or last Saturday of the month at the Pickering Town Center. That way the SO's can go to the mall while we do the car thing.

I'm interested in the meet. lets try to get as much people as possible. and can someone explain to me how the "meet" works i'm new to the car "meets". i live in Toronto and would love to meet up with some other jaguar owners and get some idea about jags.

 

Well anybody want to pick a day of the month to have it. I am more a follower than a leader.

Generally we all show up with our cars and hang out in the parking lot and visit. Talk about our cars (mods / experiences) etc. It should be interesting because other meets I have been to everyone has the same car. With us It looks like there will be lots of variety.

 

An interesting beginning might be to crash a few existing car "parties".
One of our favourites is the Fiat Lancia Unlimited (FLU) meet Thursdays in Woodbridge. We will be there in a signal red XJS drop head thursday May 6th.
These are a tremendous group of people quite welcoming of any interesting make but obviously leaning towards the European makes. Jaguars are always welcome and the lot is big and it is informal. Lots of microscopic Fiat 500's too. They are true enthusiasts I must say. Lots of intersting Ferrarri's are always there as well as RARE maserati's etc etc.
However I shall prove that Jaguar makes an outstanding "Red Two Seat Convertible Sport Car" very much up to the Italian exotics.

Last year we saw in the metal and actual Renault Alpine, that had been in the Monte Carlo rallye!
If you don't know how significant this Renault is you should Google it. Very special and exciting cars often show up.

Now the location is at weston Rd and Hway 7, it is a plaza behind the Canadian Tyre Store at weston and seven, look for 200 Windflower gate. There is a steak house type of restaraunt there and there is also a "California Sandwich". This is all a part of a strip mall and the parking lot is where the meet takes place about six to seven PM. Wait if it is empty they stay till dark.

One word if lots of us show up, it is their meet and we should remember that so we can park on the edges and mingle and who knows?

Just an update: I may not be in a Jag this Thursday may 6th. The car of choice has a temp gauge problem and it is profoundly unwise to drive a V12 without that gauge working. Will however be at the "FLU" meet as described above. If all Jaguars park on the west side of the fringes we should meet anyway. I will be searching for any and all Jagiuars and will introduce myself accordingly. If we have a decent turnout we can look for our own meeting place.

As of three minutes ago I have started a new social group on this forum.

GTA Jaguars, a group of us who may be able to meet for the purpose of:

Meeting, Information echange, Coffee, Bench Racing.

Or, the "MICBR" Group.

Lets see then if this goes anywhere.

We may even meet in person and attach faces to our user names.
