Default British Car Day Oakville Ontario, Sept 15 2013

Sounds like a great event with around 1000 cars attending

British Car Day

Let's see how many Jags we can have on display!

I might be able to get along depending on my schedule.

Is it safe to bring a Chrysler 300?

We will be there.Based on previous experience if you arrive anytime between 10-00am and midday there will be a significant wait.We normally get there between 8-30 and 9-00am.(Comment based on 20 years of experience attending this event)

Thanks for the heads up, going to have to plan this one fairly early...

A meet in advance would require a pretty early start time; not for everyone, and I know most people expressed getting there early,

Look forward to seeing everyone at the event!

I will be attending also. Have to be there first thing as I am meeting up with some Jaguar guys from Ottawa. So my meet and greet will have to be at the park.

For those of us that for some reason cannot join this drive to the show. Perhaps we could set up something to allow us to recognise each other once we have arrived. Parking in a group will not work as the show is organised to have the cars set out in model distinct sections. This will see us spread out all across the show field.

Perhaps a card or something place inside the windshield would allow us instant recognition.

Bob, good idea. Maybe a jaguar-forums sticker or business card or something placed on the windshield of our cars...?

Otherwise, I'm sure my STR will be easy to spot, so if you see me at the show, stop by and introduce yourself, and maybe I'll co-ordinate something at the show,

With that said, here are the details to the pre-meet and cruise on British Car Day,
On the morning of British car day, Sunday, September 15th,
I will be at the starbucks at 6020 Hurontario Street, Mississauga for 7.45am,
At 8.15am we depart via 403 to Bronte Creek Park, eta 8.45am
Enter through show-car gate, $20 registration fee total, per car,

Official British Car Day pre-meet and cruise over to the event,

If you're coming in from the east-end, may be worth stopping here along the way,

@Darryl with the series III XJ...please find me at the show. I will be parked in the Daimler
Section. There is a lot if things going on with Jaguar cars in the GTA.
Sorry you didn't make our concours this summer. There are never enough s-lll cars
At these events. I have two of them and that's not even enough for me!

As for GT, I hope we can make it to the pretty show cruise. You know my Daimler you have seen it in the metal. If Mrs. V12 and I can't get our older bones out of bed in time then please proceed without us.
But I would love to support your cruise endeavours.

Cheers! JV!

Aye Norrri! You can bring what ever you can sneak past the gate...but I have a thought. You can always rent a Mini for the day no?

Yes they have a section for the NEW Mini's.

Cool huh? Now that DeLorean section always takes me a while to wrap my head around...you might see the guy who has a "Back to the Future" replica.
Exactly how Britain is supposed to get blamed for that I have no idea...

We shall be there in the Daimler section safely seated under a sunbrella. Do try to find us man!
You may have to actually look for us though, we surely will be the ONLY DB18 Special Sports but I expect a long row of Daimler grills to see. Pre AND post Jaguar aquisition.

Cheers

I've got several people confirmed for this tomorrow, so please join us for this pre-meet if you're coming in from the East-end via 401!

Great day today at British Car Day 2013,

Early morning start at starbucks, pre-meet was a success with several people having shown!

Once we arrived and parked at the show, I proceeded to wipe down the STR and set up shop, thanks to JimC64 jaguarforums promotional materials and helping represent!

STR's paint lookin' clean as usual...

The view from my distant outpost at the show, 1,000+ cars in attendance,

Sorry my coverage of BCD 2013 doesn't extend much past glamour shots of my STR!

It was a real pleasure meeting many of our current members, a few managed to autograph the banner too!

Thank you again to everyone who attended the pre-meet at Starbucks in the morning! Look forward to seeing you at future events!
