Thanks for the reply! I'm having an issue with the oil pressure the gauge goes red when on idle! I changed the oil sensor but didn't solve the issue. I'll pay them a visit, hope his prices are reasonable!

When was the last time the oil filter was changed. Could be defective or not changed recently. Plugged up?? Mileage ?? Check and see if you can go to 10 w 30 or 10 w 40 higher viscosity.
There were issues with insufficient oil in the sump (dipstick issue) He's on vacation til 13th july. Dont forget if its oil pump issue this cars engine is same as Lincoln and T Bird (ford) replacement parts may be cheaper.
Whats your car color?? I'll keep an eye out
Mine is XKR 2001 Phoenix red Tan Top

Default Hello

The oil was changed in October 2014 synthetic Mobile1 10w30 and a new OEM filter. Bought the car in September 2014 came from London on a flatbed because the engine was seized! so I bought a used engine from Southfield Michigan! the replacement engine had 83000 miles, so the mechanic I know who fixes our cars changed the engine flushed it and changed the oil and filter! the car started and runs nice but the oil pressure gauge goes down on red when on idle or waiting on red light! anyways I informed the mechanic about it because the (new/used) engine had 30days warranty on it! this was in October so he said(the mechanic) it's simple its an oil sensor issue! ya he should have taken the issue seriously but what can you do! so I stored the car in winter and took out mid April and here we are! the color is called Topaz it's like a strange metallic gold. I don't drive it much I probably put around 500kms since I got it!

see what my guy Marc has to say
look in the forum for solutions...you may have to search a bit but often good stuff is there
remove the sensor... startup to see if fixture is clear... check locally for a Tbird 3.9/4.0 engine oil pump is a big deal

Default oil lite is on

how is the oil pressure guage.... not the lite it is an on/off deal really doesn't measure the pressure
I checked the forums....not a scarce problem
One post suggested original Jag filter for replacement (possible a freer flow) and definitely 5w30 synth oil
Have someone physically use a pressure guage on the engine sensor port

I've heard that higher viscosity oils can damage a pump

drop the pan and check for debris clogging the oil pickup screen.

easy job on these.

the factory filter thing is for the anti-drainback valve which has an effect
at startup but not at idle once started.

the dipstick thing has no effect as long as the oil is at max no matter
which dipstick you have.

search
silverstone dipstick

for the relevant thread.

Thanks!
So if debris are found then what needs to be changed?

nothing unless you see that the oil pump pickup tube is damaged.
or, your upper cam chain tensioners if they have not been changed.
that is the usual source of the debris unless it is sludge.

otherwise clean it up and button it back up.

don't forget to refill with oil

Marc at twin cam changed my tensioners...fair price and good quality work if you need it done lots of posts about doing it as a preventive measure for the 4.o l engine
mine were showing signs of the crack fatigue in the plastic at 18k km....replaced with 3rd iteration metal ones....peace of mind your seized engine could have been the result of the failed tensioners
