I am looking for a mechanic to either help or do the cam tensioner job on my 98 VDP. I was in to the Jaguar shop in Halifax and was quote between 4,000 and 5,000 so needless to say I am looking else where. I live near Windsor in NS and like to use someone close by.

 

Hi, I'm in Saint John NB, and with no Jaguar Dealer in this province, and after phoning the Steele owned Jag dealer in Halifax for a price on a set of hood struts and getting quoted $235 EACH!!!, (bought them from an on-line supplier for $66.00 /PAIR), I swore we would be doing very little business. I get a guy in Sussex NB, Comprehensive Auto to do any work for me. He is very knowledgeable in many Euro cars, and has this computer program which shows all jobs, time required, etc. His rate is $59.00/hr if he supplies parts, and $69 if you supply. Just wanted to thank you for the reply. I recently joined the JCNA and there appears to be a weath of information and support available as well as they have a tool loan program which I am thinking of pursuing for some of those specialty tool required. Thanks again

 

I would stay away from the Jag dealer in Halifax, when I bought my jaguar they quoted me $500 to turn on the daytime running lights and for the recall notification required for import. The Jaguar dealer in Scarborough Maine did it for free and I didn't even buy it from them.
