My wife bought her dream car, a 2002 S 3.0 in Seafoam the summer of 2001. After fourteen years she has only driven 53K miles, and is still in love with the car.

The reason I joined the forum is that the car has not been loving her back so much lately. I found this when searching for answers to multiple problems, due to lack of trust in mechanics who have repeatedly ripped us off.

It appears that this is not the correct area of the forum to post a request for guidance and help, so I'll do that elsewhere. I'm hoping the help we receive will allow my wife to enjoy her Jag for many more years, rather than going the easy route of buying a newer car.

I can see you've already found your way to the S-Type tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Thanks, Gents. Not sure why, but I don’t see anything like a “USER CP”, or a way to get to it. Using Firefox, in case that matters. On the top menu bar I see “Home”, “Forums”, Gallery”, Members”, “Tools”, etc.


By the by, Jim, does NW Sydney put you across the harbor, up near Macquarie Univ? Spent lots of time in CBD and that rough area a couple of years ago, wish I were still getting to visit Oz......

14 years is a long time for most cars unless they're Well cared for. Even then they eventually succumb to time. Your wife's car sounds like this has happened to it.
