I suppose everything is relative... I've been running a '92 Series 3 V12 VDP as a year round daily driver for 15 years and would have killed for those numbers.

Hey Harry,

My X-Type has the 2.1 V6 petrol engine .
With my current 100% round town driving primarily just to and from work, I typically get just on 450Km from a full tank (currently leaving AC running full time at present to re-hydrate that system).
That works out at about 14L/100Km.
Mind you I could never be accused of nursing it, but only doing about 150Km per week for work commute and some weekend errands.
On the infrequent occasions I get it onto the motorway or rural backroads to go on a run, I know it settles down and does better, but I haven't done a sufficiently long trip in this car yet to get a sustained highway speed economy figure.
We are through all of our lockdowns now and country opening up finally, so I will take it for a decent run to get a better feel for it shortly.

So I don't think you are doing too bad returning 13L/Km with 80% round town running, the mid-sized engine option, AWD and the extra kerb weight of carrying the additional rear drive train.
