Default Black Maserati Coupe back from the dead.

Hello all, I wanted to post some pictures of a clients Coupe with his permission, and share the condition of his car. Luckily the damage wasn't beyond repair. Every defect imaginable represented itself on this poor Italian paint.

Buffer trails are very visible throughout the entire paintwork most definitely left behind by a less than admirable detailer. Riddled in swirl marks and random deep scratches made the paint almost look sanded. Here's it's story and transformation.

Here's a good example of why not to buy a black car at night or on a cloudy day. Looks fairly decent in the shade, hiding all the micromarring and damage which is exposed by the sun and other bright light sources.

Nice job, it looked like it had been driven through a hedge before you began.

Well done.

How about some details on how you did your miracle? What products did you use? It looks awesome now. My wife and I were looking at that same car in the Spyder version before we bought the XK8. There were a couple in the area selling for $25K to $30K. We would have had to trade in the Expedition to buy it, but we like the Expedition so we just added another car to the livery and bought the XK with no trade.

Honestly, it looks like a different car. I've got some swirl marks that I've got to come to means with on my X300. Been meaning to for awhile, but the weather hasn't been quite ideal.

I would give a complete run down of the products used but that would suggest that would be the way to go, and I don't want to go that route. I've detailed hundreds of cars and rarely use the same products, technique and expertise in the art of paint correction has stayed the same for the most part.

I washed the car. Use a decent mild shampoo, plenty to choose from.

I clayed the car. This car I think I used pinnacle ultra poly.

Machine polished thousands of scratches and defects with my Makita rotary and multiple lake country and meguiars pads combined with varying polishes from 3m and Menzerna.

If I remember correctly I sealed it up with Zaino.

Had I not used the rotary, or the same pads, or the polishes, or even the sealant/wax I could have substituted with many different products, it's important to have a full arsenal in my line of work as nothing works the same on different paint systems.
