Default Seatbelt cleaning?

Hello everyone! I'm wondering how to clean sealtbelts. Mine are really grungy and would like to clean them. Today I tried to clean them using a full strength degreaser but that did not help.

Are there any other tricks? Thanks and happy new years!

I cleaned my filthy xjs ones with G101. I took them out of the car pulled them out fully, put a pim in to stop them retracting again and went to work with the G101 and a nail brush. Took a while but well worth it.

I sometimes use a bit of carpet cleaner. Never really seemed to need more than that

Pull them out, shut the door and scrub:

The only caveat is not to clean them with harsh cleaners or petroleum (solvent) based cleaners as those may deteriorate the webbing and result in the seat belt losing effectiveness in a collision.

Have only personally seen one case of that in over 40 years of accident investigation and it was with a truck when the shop cleaned the belts with solvent. One failed and the driver was ejected from the vehicle upon impact.

Be safe out there!

Vanish Oxy Action spray. (colour safe laundry pre soaker, strong stuff)
let it sit for a bit, hit it with high pressure cleaner.
