Hi I have just invested in a x type 2.2d auto with dpf and was wondering what the best oil to use would be as i want to look after my new pet and keep it happy and purring like the proverbial cat

 

In my part of Australia, Queensland we still have a choice of fuels which include 91 octane with no alcohol, 10% so called 94 with alcohol and 95 and 98 pure no alcohol.
Government is trying to convert us to battery powered EV vehicles but the take up is small.
Although the majority of Australia's population lives closer to the coastal regions, the rest live in an areas where huge distances are the norm
The typical EV has a range of 400 odd kilometers and some may make an extra 100.
If we drive to my wife's home, it is over 1000ks each way and there are no EV charging points on the way.
My daughter drives 800 ks each way to pick up my grandson from boarding school.
I think nothing of a 400K round trip drive for a Jaguar luncheon in my X300. I like my MK2 but old age air conditioning and comfort do tend to take priority
I am aware this thread has drifted away from the original question, but it does highlight the problems we are going through on a worldwide basis to keep our older cars on the road
