Small addition to cold diesel MPG.

Small addition to cold diesel MPG.
Re. the shifting of injection timing during cold-running to a warmer program, I now have a better procedure.
Wire a 10K0 half-watt resistor across the coolant temp. sensor.
Wire another 10K0 resistor across it in parallel, but via a switch in the cab.
Switch IN the additional resistor before starting, switch it OUT when block temp. reaches 60*C. This takes about 10mile of driving in warm weather. I have my own bock temp. guage as the fitted one is so non-linear.
Apart from the extra diesel clatter from driving off (which soon disappears) the snap acceleration is notably sharper right from go. This shows that sluggish snap acceleration (as complained by one contributor) of these 2.7D S-types is a control problem, not an endemic one. Something to do with the classic fly-by-wire control method. When fully warm, mine can be sluggish when overtaking, to suddenly pick-up after a hesitation of a second of so. I suspect the learning program might have something to do with it. Maybe selecting sport-mode might cure it.
