Default 2021 e-pace battery removal

My wife's e-pace has had low battery for a bit. I'm going to replace it. Do I need to keep power to the posts while swapping? What happens i if i don't?

Also it looks like I will need to remove the cross member from the strut housings.

Has anyone tried this before?

Yes, the cross member needs to be removed. I purchased a 9v memory minder ($US10) from my local auto parts store and it plugs into the 12v socket in the console. Provides enough power to save the memory settings while changing the battery. The other option is to hook up a battery charger to the cables.

I didn't know such a thing existed. Thanks for the heads up.

Or you can just simply remove the battery. You need to update the time and date after you install a new one. My XF uses H7 AGM battery. Walmart, Costco and all auto part stores sells them.
