Default 1964 headlight frame leaking

New to E-types. How do I seal the front headlight frames so they don’t leak

Welcome Kiddent,
Please be more specific, are you referring to the chrome trim around the headlights?
Post a photo of your jag when you can.
Bill.

Kiddent,
There is a rubber seal under the chrome trim that surrounds and seal the glass. If you have water leaking behind the glass, the first thing that I can think of is that the rubber seal is cracked or has a break in it, or the seal is not in place correctly. Do you know how old the rubber seal is? Very old rubber seals tend to get brittle and crack allowing water to leak pass it. Are all the chrome trim securing screws in place? Does the chrome trim fit flat and even over the rubber seal or is it lifting or higher in some places?
My cars are both open headlight cars and I can tell you that it is a PITA to reinstall the chrome trim, and I would imagine that it is the same for a covered headlight car. If all suspicions point to the rubber seal, I would not remove the chrome trim unless I have the rubber seals in hand.
I hope someone with firsthand experience replacing the rubber seal will chime in.
Good luck.
Bill.
