Affixing door seal finisher
Any tips for installing (reinstalling) the chrome finisher at the edge of the door seal? The chrome piece that is not on the door but right under it and cover the seal and interior flooring material. In tight spots my heal hits it exiting the car and knocks it off. I have seen some that have been riveted on (1 on each end and 1 in the middle). Although it may be functional, it is most likely not for the purest. A body shop recommended that I use 3M Plastic and Emblem Adhesive since they claim it is one of the strongest adhesives available. Any tips or suggestions?
Thanks

I did mine long enough ago that I don't remember all of it. At the time I just made copious notes and drew diagrams of how things went in. I kinda remember there being some sort of teeth or clips that I had to tap the sill piece back on over the new vinyl sill trim.
The good news is that we have the Internet and forums like this for information and cell phone cameras to take lots of disassembly pictures for future use. I remember the days before the Internet and cell phones. I rebuilt my Model A and Model T from a book I checked out at the library and hundreds of zip lock bags full of parts with marks a lot labeling on each bag. I put many things back together and had parts left over, then had to start all over again. 😊 Paper catalogs were a must for diagrams.
