Best books or Manuals to rely on during a restoration?
When I rebuilt a Mark 2, I had very little to go on, but when I worked on an XJ6 Series 3, I found the Parts Manual, and the Workshop Manual very useful. You can buy reprints of the E-Type equivalent at SNG Barratt. I like to have a book rather than fa*t-arsing around with a lap-top in the workshop. Also, with modern mobile phone cameras, you need to take photos of the assemblies before dismantling. For bodywork, you need to look around to see what there is on this subject. Are you intending to do all the work yourself ? Bodywork, including paintwork is quite a skilled thing. I was fortunate to have worked as a "lad" in an auto paint shop.
Besides the members here, get the E type shop manual The Complete Official Jaguar Etype series 1 and 2 for $135 usd it has been my go-to reference
