I’ve been having issues with cracked distributor caps lately. Found my current cap cracked, once again. This being the third one in as many years. Each have been purchased from different sources, so I’m not sure if there are faulty batches out there or could it be caused as a result of other unrelated issues?
Any advice/thoughts would be appreciated as well as a known supplier for a new cap that will last more than a year.
I'm just two sips into my first cuppa coffee so all disclosures and excuses apply, but those look more like "carbon tracks", and not "cracks", to my blurry eyes
Hmm, possibly so Doug. But the effect is still the same. Shorting to earth and missing. Carbon tracks occur as a result of the spark finding the path of least resistance to earth via a fault in the plastic cap. I’m guessing an issue with the consistency of the plastic manufacturing process maybe?
