I'm noticing that my cigar lighter no longer works—mainly because I don't smoke and haven't checked it for a decade. Anyway, it's obviously not critical, but does anyone do a repair on them? The replacement part from the usual sources is entirely wrong (even though the part # is correct).

 

Assuming that you have checked the fuse to that circuit? (do the other things on that circuit work??) and also that there is good power. Sometimes a bit of corrosion can interfere.. a bit of wet-dry sandpaper (folded and used dry) on the contacts....

 

Geez, this begs me to test mine. I haven't done so for many many years. Maybe grab a a cell phone charger?
