Default Driving again

After blowing out the Otter switch on the radiator I hot wired the fans and closed off the otter switch opening on the rad. I took a 30 minute drive today and the car seems to be running fine. Since it has not been driven much for the last six years, my optimism is guarded. So far I have needed the CAA to tow me home twice since I bought it in July. These old cars are robust but need proper care. Not driving it is worse than driving it like you stole it. With the Crespin mod on the Strombergs I see no need to make the car go any faster with other carb mods.

Gratz. It seems that many folks are fans of the CoolCat Otter switch replacement.

I'll consider adding that to my winter list. Not sure if this is too basic, but several of my fuses stopped working and just needed jiggling to get better contact. I'll be removing them and cleaning the brass contact sides to fix this. It is a bit troubling to suddenly see the tach die as you head down the road.

Sounds like its time to pull a nice warm beer from your Lucas refrigerator!
