Default E type series 2 side light wiring
Were the wing mounted side lights/ flashers intended to be wired or were they merely cosmetic from certain model numbers. I am asking because I have discovered no wiring into the units on my car. VIN 1 R 7035, a 1969 series 2 version.

Appreciate any thoughts. Colin

Hi Cholland1948,
I assume that you found out that not all side marker lights had wiring and light bulbs in them. Some were used just as reflectors on series 2 E-types.

JCNA judging guide says the change to lighted side markers happened at

Code:
LHD OTS 1R.11052   
RHD OTS 1R.1393
LHD FHC 1R.27051 
RHD FHC 1R.20486
LHD 2+2 1R.42850 
RHD 2+2 1R.35643
Haddock shows a change at the same numbers, but neglects to say what the change is.

From reading the JCNA Judge's Guide and looking at the asterisk I would say those are the chassis numbers when they received wiring and bulbs.
