Default Front Hubs, Brakes, etc.

I have not received by judges guide yet but I want to proceed with dismantling my front hubs and other associated parts. Need some Help. See below.

- What color are the hubs supposed to be?
- How can you tell if the the splines are worn out?
- What color are the calipers?
- What color are the caliper brackets.
- Does anyone have experience with White Post or Apple sleeving the calipers?
- Is it worth powder coating the brake shields?

Thanks everyone for your input.

Herb

Hi Herb

I am no expert but have some knowledge on E-Types.
I believe most of the suspension and brake parts were electro plated. The suspension was cadmium plated and the callipers , brackets and dust shields may have zinc plated.
If the splines are worn there may be slight play between the wheel and the hub. When the car is accelerating you may get a knock from the rear end.
Cant help with sleeving the callipers sorry

Hi Herb,
The up rights were black
Caliper brackets were black
Control arms black on the very early cars and CAD on all others.

JCNA does not judge suspension components.

I hope this helps.
