I switched my '67 with open headlamps to closed. I know that the sugar scoops are different but will the buckets from my mid '67 car work with the closed headlamps?

The closed lights are both lower and further back so the answer sort of depends on what lights / mounts you are planning to use. In addition, you probably want to make a light choice that improves over the glowworms in a jar performance of the original lights. There are a wide choice of shallow projector-style lights that may, or may not suit your aesthetic tastes and many also have DRL built in. Another question is the diameter (the originals are smaller).

So, irritating as it may be, my answer is that you should select your lights and then determine how to accommodate them.

I did not care about looking as original and also wanted to delete the signal light 'pods' under the bumper.

 

I believe the buckets are essentially the same except one difference. The covered headlight buckets have a bevel on the bottom to clear the front tires. I don’t know if you really need that but you want them if you’re going for an accurate aesthetic.

 

I'm going for original so beveled buckets it is.
