I have a 1969 XKE SII. The plastic cover around the ignition key was badly butchered. Now the key is having an old age problem - hard to get in and turn some times. I purchased the key assy. Moss Motors says is for the series 2 BUT it is not. From what I have read in the "Factory-Original Jaguar E-Type Page 114 by Anders Ditlev Clausager".

Before I butcher the vehicle what are other folks doing to replace the worn out original?? Please make your answer suitable for an OLD computer geek.
