Default I've always admired these cars

does anyone have any insight on how difficult it is to come across one of these classic e-types and how much one can expect to pay. I have only ever seen 2 in person my entire life! someday i'd love to call one mine!

Not hard to buy one. They're regulars at the usual big special-car auctions, Ebay, etc

Pricing varies a great deal on year/series/spec and condition, and over the last couple decades have gone up-n-down a couple times.

My employee bought a pristine/restored '67 Ser I roadster for $85k about 3 years ago.

You can spend more, you can spend less

Cheers

Doug you're paying your employee too much. I've only ever seen a series one coupe, but it wasn't a normal E-Type. It was actually a racing car. It was painted in british racing green with some yellow livery on it. I was quite young so I don't remember the details. I remember sitting in it and I've been dreaming about that car ever since.

haha ahh that makes a little more sense!

So... not hard to find one for sale, but not necessarily easy on the wallet.
I'm assuming similar to my series III xj6, if I get a good price on one I'll be paying the difference getting it semi restored.
