Advice please on contact points for lift? There don't appear to be very many options and I read somewhere I should keep the rear suspension supported rather than let it hang? I have attached a photo of my other LBC on the lift that I have. Vevor lift
At the back, wedge some wood blocks in the 1" gap between the outer bodywork and the large bushing of the IRS trailing arm and support it there. If doing that both sides results in both rear wheels leaving the ground, then support the IRS under the tie plate as the cage mounts are not designed to support the weight of the IRS. At the front, you can jack under the picture frame (NOT the bonnet support frame).
I will have to consult my various repair manuals to identify the areas you mention; I am not yet conversant in Jag undercarriage and/or suspension parts, e.g. "tie plate", "cage mounts". I will look to see if I can locate the 1 inch gap. I am pretty sure I need to get this car in the air. My project includes R&R floor pans, and stripping off as much trim as possible in prep for paint..
