Pishoc:

I live in New Jersey and when it was time to fully restore my ‘64 OTS I scoured the East Coast for a good restoration shop with extensive experience in restoring E-types. There were many restorers out there but precious few of them had the deep knowledge, experience and equipment necessary to deal with restoring the car’s unique monocoque (a specialized jig is essential).

In the end I shipped my car to Muncie Imports & Classics, one of the preeminent E-type restoration shops in the country. The added cost of shipping the car to and from Indiana was mice-nuts compared to the overall restoration costs. It was easy to track the restoration’s progress through emails, photos and phone conversations. I even traveled out to Muncie once to see the shop and meet the crew. I was amazed to see a dozen E-types in various states of disassembly in their shop.

I was extremely happy with the final result and the restoration is still holding up and looking beautiful 15 years later! I occasionally call MIC with questions about the car (i.e. last month regarding valve clearances) and they are always happy to hear from me and help me out.

Do yourself a favor and look at the MIC website.

Good luck!
