No chassis number stamp
Just bought a 71 and found the chassis number on the data plate is not stamped on the frame above the right front shock. Its not on the left side either.
Could there possibly be a place in late 70 manufacturing where they either stamped the number or didn't bother?
Only other thought I have is the front "window" frame has been replaced. Possibly due to a front end accident.
The car originally had power steering per the body number/vin. I wonder if that was not replaced due to the steering rack being damaged in a possible front end collision?
