Does any one have specific knowledge, what the differences are between the oil filler cap (S1 - 1.5) c1022 and the S2 cap, c27278? One supplier said they're the exact same spec, and another said differently. Sadly, no buddy with an S1.5 to compare w my S2 to, and cannot find any info on 4.2l cam cover / filler aperture alterations in the S2 chronological changes chart.

I checked my S2 oil filler cap (so-called c27278) in an S1 (c1022), and it was 100% the same size; the later part number was supposed to supercede the earlier, but it seems the opposite has happened. So there you go.

 

Seems early one has Jaguar logo, and the later one not. Early one uses a fiber washer for sealing and later one an O ring. Moss Motor on-line Catalog
