On the power steering system of my E-Type S2 from May 1970, there is a thin plastic hose running from the lower right (as viewed from the front) to the center (toward the front). This hose is leaking slightly, and I would like to replace it.
Since this line is not mentioned or described in any technical documentation, I would like to understand its function. Since the line is simply plugged onto the connection nipples, I suspect that there is no oil pressure.
Can anyone explain the function of this line to me?
The thin plastic is the connection to the other point
Regards, Alfred
Just a guess on my part. Since that appears to be cheap plastic hose from a hardware store with no clamps on the end probably the return hose back to the fluid reservoir. You could probably replace with brake hose and clamps.
