radio interference
I bought a 1972 E type. The radio, especially fm has horrible interference that whines as the engine goes faster. I get a couple am stations, not too well.
I don’t want to replace the plug wires, unless there’s a good chance that’s it.Can a car radio shop put in some sort of suppressor?
thank you

Jake, its a tough one. Its intereference/grounds issue.
Ive tried it all in mine and it gets better with a modern radio .
I put inline surpressors , its just an old jag thing. I run electric ignition and a modern alt with a built in regulator and still get it in the speakers .
Its goes away driving with the radio noise but then pulses sometimes as well.
Good luck
p.s. I double ground everything as well.

The old trick was to fit little capacitors all over the place near where sparking could occur. Mostly this would be the distributor, but also near dynamos. However, my memory of my Mark 2 fades, (sold it in 1988), but any older auto-electrician should be able to advise.
