Without hesitation the most valuable manual is the illustrated S2 parts manual by Richard Liggett. There were 5 major changes in the S2 E and if you want to ensure you go the right way purchase one. They are available on line from XKE books but JCNA members get a healthy discount.

Default Manuals/resources to recommend

Without a doubt the Robert Bentley (publisher) is a combination owner's manual and workshop manual that has helped me more times than I can count over the 33 years that I have owned my E.

The Complete Official Jaguar - Bentley Publishers - Repair Manuals and Automotive Books

I also have a copy of the Haynes manual. This link is from the Haynes site, (out of stock) but there are any number of copies available from Ebay/amazon, etc.

The other digital resources are this forum as well as Jag-lovers:

ISBN for the Haynes manual is ISBN-13:
9780857336125

For the Bentley: ISBN-13: 978-0-8376-1764-0

This info should also come up for you on the links I posted... came up for me just now.
