Default Removing, dissassembling, and Reconditioning Front Torsion Bars

Also posted in the Jag Lovers Forum

So now I am removing and rebuilding all my front suspension and down to the torsion bars. As you can see from the pics there is a considerable amount of rust to deal with especially on the front. Suggestions and tips on getting the rods out and splines separated and salvaged are much appreciated.

Plenty of penetrant, sand blasting and your choice of coating. You might have to press them out. GL

It is a remarkable solvent. Give it time to work. If it becomes a real problem some heat always helps. You probably know already, but the thermal expansion helps to release the outside piece. You might find it looks worse than it is, especially after the penetrant does its thing.
