Default Run series 2 without tachometer

I removed my tachometer to send in for repair. I tried to start the car and no go. Plugged the non working tach back in and it fired up. So I looked at the wiring diagram and the white wire from the ignition switch runs through the tach and then to the positive lead of the coil. I thinking I can just jump this white wire at the tach plug and should be good to go while the tach is in for repair.

Does anyone have any first hand experience doing this?

The tach works by sensing current flow to the ignition coil. When you remove the tach you break that path. The jumper will restore the circuit like you suspected,
