Default Series 1.5 Eyebrow Removal

Hello, fellow Jaguarists!

Any generous soul that would illuminate me on how to remove this lovely piece of chrome that sits above the headlamp, and that has been driving me insane for the last 2 hours?

Hi Dan219,
I removed the ones on my 68 coupe about two years ago. If I remember correctly, the eyebrow is held in place with the same type of clips that hold the long chrome finishing strip on top of the fender. I believe there are a total of two or three clips. So, you may have one or two that are visible from the wheel well area, and I think one that is located directly behind the headlight assembly. You need to remove the headlight ring, headlight, and the headlight bucket to access the one clip directly behind it. But before you do this, release the clips that are accessible from the wheelhouse first and see if the eyebrow will come off. If not, you'll need to remove the headlight.
Bill.

Thanks Daytona!
the clips were completely covered with undercoating and nearly invisible. I scraped it off with a small blade and bingo! Found them! I’ll continue with the front side this weekend.

As usual, very very helpful!!

It was easier to remove for me without damage by loosening (not removing) the bolts that connect the fender and the hood. If you loosen them just a bit you can leverage the opening larger and remove without damaging.
