Default Series 2 center console

My 1969 DHC is missing the center console. I have the box lid and attached piece but am missing the metal structure that runs along the tunnel from the radio surround towards the rear. I don't see any available to purchase through the usual sources so I would like to have one fabricated locally. I was wondering if someone has a bare one that would be willing to measure it or even make a paper pattern that we could use for this purpose. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a bare metal one where I am located. Thank you

Hi Andy,
I found a used center console for my Series 1 FHC on Ebay. There are a lot of parts listed there. Another good source for used Jag parts is Welsh, or even Facebook market place.
Good luck.
Bill.

Default Center Console Dimensions

Andy,
I am in the process of recovering my '70 roadster, making a right mess of it to be sure, but have it apart and partially complete. So, I can't take absolute measurements of the bare structure, but I could get close if that will help? Looking at the pics from Ebay, it doesn't look as those are quite right if the '69 mimics my '70.

That one looks like the proper one as it has the side indents. I would really appreciate that. If it is easier to just make a paper template I would gladly pay for your time and any postage costs. Thanks again, Andy

Be glad to. Spent the afternoon trying to clean up the mess I made of it. Not sure I can ever make this right, let alone "correct". Just too cheap to pa.y a professional for a car that will never be anything more than a "driver". Can't wait to see how I butcher the new top installation.

I will do my best with a template; I'm thinking I will use cardboard, but I am open to suggestions from anyone.. The trick will be getting the angle right on the top piece though you are probably clever enough to simply use the inverse of that on the console body.

Shoot me a message with your mailing address/email and no worries, you can tell by the quality of my work that my time has no value. Chjeers!
