Series 3 resurrection and starter issues
Hello, I’m in the process of putting back on the road my 71 Series 3 that was stored for over 20 years. After putting a new fuel tank and pump I got it running (albeit sluggish) aster a 4 minute run at 1500 RPM there was noticeable smoke from engine compartment and I then shut it off. No oil leaks present, good oil pressure while running, suspected cloggged exhaust (barn stored) as it smelled strong of exhaust, pulled the back box and pipes this AM and RE attempted start….click and nothing. Replay is clicking, smacked starter solenoid a time or two to no joy. Curiously I noticed my oil pressure light is now “out” with the key “on” which yesterday it was “on” till started. All other lights work. I’m sure the two (starter/no crank/no oil light) are not related but thought I’d pick brains here just to make sure. Plus I just don’t want to start throwing parts at it. TIA
